      Senior Controller Financial Planning and Analysis (f/m)

in our department “Life Division Finance”, located in Cologne

The Senior Controller Financial Planning and Analysis will support building and strengthening reporting and controlling processes, both under IFRS and with regard to economic reports under Solvency II. She/he will be responsible for quarterly variance analysis and for the identification of key drivers for quarterly results related to the group’s life segment.

Your range of assignments:

  • Support planning process of Life Division and prepare variance analysis
  • Specialist in economic profit and loss analysis
  • Establish and coordinate quarterly technical result Forecast to Group Finance
  • Analysis of quarterly and annual accounts, planning/forecast: per line of business, per Business Unit, per new/in-force business etc. (Metrics performance); responsible for variance analysis
  • Provide tools, standard reporting and work on concepts to further enhance financial reporting
  • Produce quarterly result presentation
  • Support financial strategy projects (e. g. restructuring projects, strategic plans)
  • Interact with management


Your profile:

  • University degree/Master degree in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, equivalent other scientific discipline
  • Desirably membership in actuarial association/qualified as an actuary or equivalence assigned by a recognized organization
  • Longtime (8 years +) broad and sound work experience in (re)insurance, preferable in the life segment
  • Experience in dealing with various accounting regimes and related cross-analyses, preferably including know-how of Solvency II reporting and valuation of Technical Provisions and Solvency Capital required
  • Excellent knowledge in controlling, reporting and planning processes (e. g. IFRS, Solvency II)
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, accuracy with numbers and attention to details required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent IT skills in working with standard software (MS-Office)
