He then spent five years at Manchester Rugby Club, where he was a player and coach. The married father-of-two, who lives in Sale, began his career in the insurance industry in 1980, when he joined Manchester-based broker Bowring Scholfields as an account handler straight from school.

He has since held senior sales and business development roles at a number of brokers.

Jee said: “I’m delighted to be joining Bollington at an exciting time for the business. I like its culture and forward-thinking outlook, and I look forward to helping it to continue its recent growth by winning new business while also looking after key corporate accounts across a range of sectors, including property, manufacturing and recruitment.”

Bollington chief executive Paul Moors said: “Phil is the latest in a line of key appointments during 2014 as we look to continue the progress we have made since the management buyout of the business in 2013.” (vwh)
